Family Zumba Fun, Winter Concerts: Your Weekend

Here's what's happening in the Parkland area Thursday through Sunday.

  • From Bach’s magical harmonies in O Jesulein süss (Child Jesus, so sweet) to Mack Wilberg’s exuberant setting of Ding Dong Merrily on High, the singers of The Bach Choir have helped pick the carols they most love to sing. Saturday, 8 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Allentown 3231 W. Tilghman St. Allentown. Tickets $35, Student $9
  • Singer & Guitarist Jim Cuthbert will entertain at the Parkland Community Library with humor and song stylings from the Great American Songbook, Broadway and country.  7 p.m. Thursday at Parkland Community Library.
  • The Parkland School District continues its "wellementary" program for families Thursday evening at the Springhouse Middle School. This session features a zumba class and a healthy cooking demonstration. Registration begins at 6:30 p.m., with the program starting at 7 p.m.
  • Orefield Middle School Chorus winter concert will be at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Parkland High School Auditorium. The Middle School Orchestra winter concert is 7 p.m. Friday at the high school auditorium.
  • Parkland Cheerleading Booster Club will host a Breakfast with Santa, in the high school cafeteria. There will be two seatings, at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. Tickets are $8 per person and include an unlimited pancake breakfast with one round of sausage, juice, milk, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and a photo opportunity with Santa.   • There will be a book signing and poetry reading at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Parkland Community Library. Author Barbara Crooker's new book Gold focuses a life-altering experience: losing one's mother. Books will be available for purchase.
