Ironton Telephone Company Workers Help Build a Home

A Habitat for Humanity home is being built in Easton, with the help of community members.

A new Habitat for Humanity home rising in Easton began to take shape with some help from staffers of the Ironton Telephone Company on Mauch Chunk Road in North Whitehall.

Ten staffers were on site to help construct the main outside walls of the structure. They worked alongside the young couple who will eventually get to call the place home, said Dave George, the company's general manager.

Along with George, those participating included Christine Kish, Michelle Ebert, Gary Yencho, Cindy McCormick, Charlie Kresge, Ricky Harring, Dennis Getz, Denny Clark and Patrick Mascornick.

George said Ironton Telephone Company believes in giving back to the communities it serves, and that the build also was a good team building experience for staff from various departments.

Patch thanks the Ironton Telephone Company for photos of the build.
