Runner's World Festival Will Return in October

But runners only have until Monday to register with early-bird pricing.

Runner’s World magazine has announced that it will sponsor the third annual Half Marathon and Running Festival at SteelStacks in October.

A weekend-long celebration of running, which is scheduled for Oct. 17 to 19, it features kids’ runs, a dog run, 5-K, 10-K, and half marathon races, as well as running-related seminars, movies, live music and a health and fitness expo.

The first two events featured more than 6,000 participants, and have hosted luminaries such as Olympic marathoner Shalane Flanagan, Boston Marathon race director Dave McGillivray, Olympic Gold Medalist Summer Sanders, ultramarathoner Dean Karnazes and inspirational author Matt Long.

Runners who register now to participate in one, two or all three races can take advantage of early bird pricing through Monday.

Race registration is open at www.rwhalf.com for the 5-K (Oct. 18), 10-K (Oct. 18) and half marathon (Oct. 19), or both the ‘Five and Dime’ (5k and 10k), and the ‘Hat Trick’ (all three races).

The current price levels—available through Monday are—5-K ($25), 10-K ($30), half marathon ($70), Five and Dime ($55), and Hat Trick ($115).
