Parkland Falls 21-10 in State Quarterfinal Playoff

Trojans punted on first seven possessions and fell behind 21-0 by the end of the first half.

The Parkland Trojans got off to a slow start and fell behind early Saturday, losing their PIAA Quad-A quarterfinal game to St. Joseph’s Prep, 21-10, at Bethlehem’s Frank Banko Field.

The Trojans punted on each of their first seven possessions of the game, allowing the Hawks to jump out to a 21-0 lead by the end of the first half, according to The Morning Call.

This is the fifth straight season that the District 11 Quad-A champion lost to the Philadelphia Catholic League champion in the state quarterfinals, the newspaper reported.

Parkland, the last Lehigh Valley Conference team standing, finishes its season with a 12-2 record, while St. Joseph’s Prep will play Neshaminy in a state semifinal next week.
