Roommate Stole $598 in Checks, Police Say

State police at Bethlehem said charges are pending as the investigation continues in an alleged forgery case.

Nine restitution checks totaling $597.50 were stolen from the 4700 block of Scheidys Road in North Whitehall, state police at Bethlehem said.

The checks were stolen from Eric McDonald, 36, of Slatington, at various times since January 2007 by a former roommate, state police said in a release Tuesday. 

Charges are pending further investigation, police said. A suspect was not named.
