Janet L. Shukausky, 46, Cetronia Playground Aide

Janet L. Shukausky, 46, died Monday at Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia.

Janet L. Shukausky, 46, of Upper Macungie Township, passed away January 20, 2014 in Hahnemann University Hospital, Philadelphia.

She was the loving wife of Anthony C. Shukausky. They were married for 20 years on April 17, 2013.

Janet worked as a playground aide at Cetronia Elementary School. Prior to that, she was an office clerk at Muhlenberg College in the Gifts and Endowment office.

Born in Berea, Ohio, she was the daughter of James P. and Carolyn L. (Mitsch) Smith of South Whitehall Township. She was a 1986 graduate of Parkland High School. She was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, Orefield.

She is survived by her parents, as well as a son: Ryan A. Shukausky at Marywood University, a daughter: Kaitlin L. Shukausky at home, brothers: James P. Smith, Jr. of South Whitehall Twp, David A. Smith of Pittsburgh, Thomas E. Smith and his wife Kimberly of Camby, Indiana, and Robert S. Smith of South Whitehall Twp., sister: Nancy L. wife of Phil Vitovitch of South Whitehall Twp., father-in-law and mother-in-law: Leonard J. and Anna M. (Stancavage) Shukausky of Upper Macungie Township and many nieces and nephews.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, at 11 A.M. in St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church 1879 Applewood Dr. Orefield. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, from 7 P.M to 8:30 P.M. in the J. S. Burkholder Funeral Home, 16th and Hamilton Sts. Allentown, and on Friday, from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. in the Church. Interment: Resurrection Cemetery, Wescosville.

In Iieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her memory to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 1879 Applewood Dr. Orefield, PA 18069, or to the Gift of Life Family House, 401 Callowhill St., Philadelphia, PA 19123-4101.
