Ferrel George, 96, Ritz Barbecue, LV Dairy Worker [Obituary]

Ferrel M. George, 96, of Schnecksville, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the home of his daughter. He was the husband of 75 years to the late Gertrude I. George. Ferrel was the son of the late Morris S. and Katie Estella (Sterner) George.

He was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church for over 60 years. He performed many volunteer duties at the church. Ferrel worked at the Ritz Bar-B-Q, was a milkman for Lehigh Valley Dairy and worked at the National Guard Armory in Allentown until retiring. 

Survivors: Sons, James W. of Schnecksville, Robert F. and his wife Carol “Woody” of Schnecksville, daughter Carol A., wife of the late Lt. Col. Leonard M. Vitek, of Hellertown, sisters, Delphine, wife of the late David G. Rossi of Schnecksville, Lorna Ogilvie of Breinigsville, seven grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a brother Angus.

Services: 10:30 AM, Saturday, March 23, at Trexler Funeral Home, 1625 Highland St., Allentown, with Rev. Donna T. Deal officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects starting at 9:30 a.m. Burial to follow at Cedar Hill Memorial Park, Allentown.
