Douglas Hubler: President of Former Hubco Ford Truck Sales [Obituary]

Douglas G. Hubler, 83, of Allentown, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013.

Douglas G. Hubler, 83, of Allentown, died Tuesday, October 29, 2013 in the Inpatient Hospice Unit at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.

He was the husband of the late Daune I. (Frey) Hubler. Born in Allentown, August 4, 1930, Douglas was the son of the late Melvin W. and Ruth (Walbrecht) Hubler. He faithfully and honorably served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War era with a rank of Corporal.

Douglas was the President of the former Hubco Ford Truck Sales in South Whitehall Township for 38 years before retiring in 2006.

He was awarded the PA Truck Dealer of the Year Award, served on the Board of Directors of the PA Truck Dealers for 13 years and was a member of the Ford Motor Company, National Dealer Council.

Doug was a member of Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church, Orefield, the Jordan-Martin Masonic Lodge #673, F. & A.M., Allentown, Lehigh Consistory, Valley of Allentown, and the Rajah Shrine, Reading. Douglas held various positions with the Boy Scouts Minsi Trails Council for over 40 years.

Survivors: Sons, Wayne C. Hubler of Allentown, Scott M. Hubler of Coplay, Douglas A. Hubler of Allentown; daughter, Gina M. Hubler of Key Biscayne, Florida; brother, Ronald N. Hubler of Allentown; grandchildren, Scott D. Hubler, Douglas J. Hubler, Kira M. Hubler, Kirsten A. Hubler; predeceased by a brother, Heydon W. Hubler.

Services: Funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 2, 2013 at Jordan Evangelical Lutheran Church 5103 Snowdrift Road, Orefield, with the Rev. Jimmy Lee Werley officiating. Family and friends may pay their respects from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. Friday in the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., 4906 Route 309, Schnecksville and 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the church.

Interment with military honors will follow the service at Jordan Lutheran Church Cemetery.
