Allen Werley: Former Owner Werley's Gas Station, Stock Car Racer [Obituary]

Allen G. Werley, 74, of Orefield, died Monday, Oct. 21, 2013.

Allen G. Werley, 74, of Orefield, passed away Monday, October 21, 2013 at Lehigh Valley Hospital Inpatient Hospice Unit in Allentown. He was the husband of Sara Lee (Davies) Werley for 53 years this month. Born in Lowhill Twp., he was the son of the late George M. and Hilda E. (Roth) Werley.

He was co-owner of Werley’s Gas Station with his late father for many years retiring in 2010. Allen was a mechanic all his life. He enjoyed building his own stock car and racing it at Dorney Park and other tracks for many years. Allen was a member of Morgenland Church in Orefield.

Survivors: Wife; Daughter, Susan M. wife of Bob Ross of Morgantown; Sons, Glen A. and partner Patrick Nocket of Sarasota, FL and Robb A. and wife Brenda of Orefield; Sisters, Renae A. Stahley of Orefield and Janice E. Young of Gilbertsville; Grandchildren, Brittany and Emily Ross and Paxton, Morgan and Nicholas Werley; Great-grandson, Aaron Ross; Nieces and Nephews. Services: 11 A.M.,Friday, October 25 at Morgenland Church, 3120 Weidasville Rd., Orefield with the Rev. Sally D. Zelker officiating. Visitation will beThursday, October 24 from 6:30 to 8:00 P.M. at Keller Funeral Homes, Inc., 1018 Church St., Fogelsville and from 10 to 11 A.M. in the Church. Interment Church cemetery.
