Dorney Park Owner Had 2012 Record-High Revenue

Dorney Park's parent company reported Tuesday that it had record revenues in 2012, thanks in part to the South Whitehall destination's strong performance.

Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom's parent company said Tuesday that the company had a record year in 2012, with Dorney Park and four of its other parks "leading the way."

Matt Ouimet, Cedar Fair Entertainment Company's president and chief executive officer, attributed the financial success to near-record attendance levels at its parks, more guest spending, new benefit offerings such as Fast Lane and new entertainment offerings.

  • Record full-year net revenues of $1.068 billion, up 3.9 percent from 2011
  • Net income of $101.2 million, up $30.5 million from the previous year.

"Going forward, we will continue to strategically invest capital across all of our properties, particularly where we believe we will achieve the greatest return on investment," Ouimet said.
