Messy Commute, Snow and Ice Coming Today, Forecasters Say

A mixture of snow, ice and rain is expected Monday along with sub-freezing temperatures in the morning

A winter storm is on the way and it could make for a messy commute to work or school Monday morning, according to weather forecasters.

WFMZ says snow will start around sunrise and continue for a few hours before it changes to rain in late morning or early afternoon.

The National Weather Service predicts "rain, snow, freezing rain, and sleet before 3 p.m., then rain and freezing rain, possibly mixed with sleet from 3 to 4 p.m., then rain and sleet likely after 4 p.m."

We could get about an inch of snow and sleet.

Daytime highs will climb into the 40s on Tuesday and 50s on Wednesday but both days will be cloudy and rainy.
