New Rodizio Grill Brazilian Steakhouse Opens

The new Rodizio Grill Brazilian Steakhouse in Allentown features a gourmet salad bar and slow-grilled meats carved table side by 'gauchos.'

The owners of The Melting Pot fondue restaurant in Bethlehem have added another unique dining experience to the Lehigh Valley restaurant scene with the opening of Rodizio Grill Brazilian Steakhouse at 2805 Lehigh Street in Allentown. Rodizio is located next to The Tilted Kilt at the site of what used to be a Bob Evans restaurant just off I-78. Rodizio features a gourmet salad bar and rotisserie grilled meats—including beef, pork, poultry and lamb—that are seasoned and slow roasted. After you visit the salad bar, return to your table where friendly "gauchos" bring steak and other roasted meat to you on a long skewer and carve it tableside. Proposed Walmart on Route 309 Gets 1-Year Extension

Several North Whitehall residents wanted to know why Walmart was 'pushing' to build a store nearby on Route 145 in Lehigh Township.

The North Whitehall Board of Supervisors granted Walmart a one-year extension on a highway occupancy permit Monday for the retailer's proposed site on Route 309 in Schnecksville. The permit is for the storm sewers that would occupy the right-of-way during construction of the proposed Walmart, south of Old Packhouse Road. Board Vice Chairman Steve Pany said Walmart had delayed building because of the economy. Several residents in the audience asked why Walmart was "pushing" to build a store nearby on Route 145 and Birch Dirve outside Walnutport in Lehigh Township "I haven’t heard that it's a push," Pany said. Gas Prices Dip Slightly Over the Week

Find the cheapest gas in North Whitehall Township.

With a steady decline in gas prices throughout April, the average price per gallon is nearly 45 cents lower than a year ago, according to AAA’s Fuel Gauge Report. The national average this week is $3.508 for a gallon, down .7 cents from last week. In Pennsylvania, today’s average price of self-serve gasoline is $3.463 per gallon down 2.7 cents from a week ago, down 19.2 cents from a month ago and 40 cents lower than a year ago. In the Lehigh Valley, the average price of self-serve gasoline is $3.425 per gallon, 3.4 cents lower than a week ago, 20 cents lower than a month ago and 44.8 cents lower than a year ago. As a season pass holder we go as soon as they open, head to the water park and stay for a few hours and then go home and have lunch at home. It works out well for us because we only live 15, or so mins, away. I can't take the crowds !!! Going after 5 is good too especially during the week. Properties Up for Sheriff's Sale Friday

Dozens of properties to be sold at monthly Lehigh County sheriff's sale on Friday

Dozens of properties are on the list for Friday's monthly Lehigh County Sheriff's sale. The list includes an opening bid and a total of back taxes owed on each property.  Sales are held starting at 10 a.m. in Room 131 on the first floor of the Lehigh County Courthouse, Fifth and Hamilton Streets, Allentown. The sale is a public auction and buyers must bid for properties, which are not available for inspection prior to the sale. More information is available on Lehigh County's website.
