Community Fire Company No. 1 of North Whitehall Township in Schnecksville recently received a $1,000 donation from Steckel and Stopp Law Offices to support ongoing community protection efforts.

The donation represented $750 from the firm's attorneys and staff and $250 from Senior Partner Charles W. Stopp and his wife, Barbara.  The staff funds resulted from a collection taken weekly for dress-down day.

The presentation to fire company President Daniel Wehr was made Dec. 11 by firm Controller Sandra Maurer at the 1036 Main St. office in Slatington.  Steckel and Stopp, which has been serving clients for 65 years, also has offices at 125 S. Walnut St., Slatington, and 4331 Route 309 in Schnecksville.

The 2013 collections will benefit the Slatington Public Library.
